Honor your graduates with a celebratory brunch
From mid-May into June, it is graduation season! It’s a time for pomp and circumstance but also a time for reflection and gratitude. It is a milestone moment in life. There are so many memories to look back on, but so much to look forward to as well. It’s reason to celebrate!
This year I have two graduates, one from college and one from high school! For me, it is bittersweet. This rite of passage evokes special emotions. It is such a privilege to honor our graduates’ hard work and achievements. It’s exciting as this marks a new chapter in their lives, which means our lives too! But it’s also a little sad because we’ll be leaving so many amazing teachers, administrators, professors, coaches, mentors and friends. I look at photos of my son starting kindergarten and then look at his high school graduation photos, and now he is soon to be a college graduate embarking on the real world. It goes by so fast!
With graduation, it is meaningful to remember that every end is a new beginning. It’s a great reason to recognize and celebrate this moment in life. Send the message to your graduates that “We love you, We’re so proud of you. We want to celebrate you!”
How you ask? Throw a party, go to dinner, or host a brunch. I personally like the idea of getting friends and family together for brunch. It’s a meal that tends to be a bit more intimate and it can be a perfect space for reflection and harmony. You can serve finger foods that are easy to eat and you can add sophistication and nutrition to your menu.
I like to serve one egg dish, one savory tart, seasonal fruit, some sweet options and a cocktail or mocktail. It can be a celebratory meal that is pleasing to the eye as well. I like making some of my food options as part of the décor, like my Berry Tree!
