Healthy Hot Chocolate

If you’re enjoying a wintery weekend with friends, what better way to soak up the season than with a creamy rich cup of hot chocolate? This can be a healthy treat for the kids after a day in the snow, or add some peppermint schnapps and make it an adult beverage. It’s like a warm hug!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond milk

  • 1 cup canned coconut milk

  • 6-7 dates, pitted

  • 2 ½ T cacao powder

  • 1 T cinnamon

  • 1 t vanilla

  • 1 dash nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Heat the milk and dates in a sauce pan and bring to a boil for a minute. Let cool slightly and then place it in a power blender. Add remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly. Serves 4.
